POZO

What a week. Pozo just finished. You know normally I update and write a lot here in the blog... well... today and about Pozo, I dont really feel much like it. In shorts: I did third in the single elimination, was quite happy, but didnt want to be happy or put it up in the blog to not curse myself for the double. The double came. I sailed well, but I lost on a split decision, so dropped to fourth. So I am a broken girl. I hope I will be more chirpy in a few days (I am sure I will...!) and will update more. Now, off to Fuerte in a couple of days. hopefully will get some wavesailing before the Freestyle starts. PS: sic sailing today: down the line with solid logo high waves and 3,3... love this sport... AAAAND... massive congrats to Philip, our little kid from Vargas, and to Victor... they were just amazing yesterday in the final.

LANZAROTE IS LONG OVER AND POZO ABOUT TO START

Hello! and sorry for not updating much during Lanzarote, but it was difficult to be online there without the risk of getting your computer full of dust and sand.
Most of you have all read all the reports from the event, so i am not really going to tell you anything new, just my point of view. It was a great event, we had wind every day, sometime too much! i sailed in heats with all my sails from 4,7 down to 3,3, so I think it was a very fair competition for everyone!. Sarah Quita is definitely another league ahead from everyone in freestyle. Plus she is such a nice humble girl! Congratulations Sarah!! I was so impressed by Junko. well, I sailed with her a bit in Maui and back then I knew she would do good. She was so motivated with the freestyle. she would train every day in Maui for hours... so I think she really deserved to do well. Daida sailed super well as well, plus the days with big waves and really strong wind were perfect for her to mix her freestyle with her amazing jumping. Then Laure was a bit unlucky to be honest. Things didnt really go her way. I think she is one of the best freestylers on the Tour but she was just a bit unlucky. Same than Yoli actually. Then it was me on the list, so I am happy. Last year I gave up freestyle due to the foot but this year I thought i would take it back a bit. I had trained a little bit in the winter (just a little bit!), but I am far, far from the girls ahead in freetyle. Then Iballa and Silvia also did well, but our motivation for freestyle is not very high at the moment. Olya, Xenia and Malina, are the "new girls on the freestyle tour" (Although only Xenia is actually new). they have been all winter training in Freestyle spots and they have improved a lot from last year. next year i will have to work my arse off if I want to finish ahead of them!!!

Now Pozo is just about to start on Friday and it looks like we will be able to compete straight away!!!! fingers crossed for good conditions and good luck!!!!

IN LANZAROTE: FREESTYLE TIME...

I arrived here in Lanzarote yesterday, as i decided to do the freestyle competition again this year (last year couldnt come, remember? the foot... two years since i last was here and it feels like yesterday!!!!!) I passed by Fuerteventura on my way here and I enjoyed two days with my brother and friends from there. it was sooooooo nice!!!! It was perfect because there were no waves or wind, so I could chill at the beach and rest and charge the batteries!!!

Everyone is here already in Lanzarote. It has been super quite but now the wind seems like it is turning back to normal direction and we will have some good conditions for the event for sure.

In the girls fleet some new young girls have joined the tour and it is really cool to see young new faces! it will be a good comp!!! and i think in the boys we will see a good comp as well with Gollo, Brawzinho, Kiri, Taty, and the new Belgium guy that is doing to well in the European tour! we will see!!!

FUN SUP SESSIONS!

I said before, it is been a weird June. last week we had some south wind, what it is pretty weird at this time of the year, and not very good for sailing at all. But that means the North shore is pretty glassy. So we had some awesome sessions on the water surfing, even longboarding and SUPing. Not much swell, but good fun waves. Julio Leon, from Elgransurf.com was there on saturday and took this pictures, thanks a lot Julio!. It was so much fun! Now the wind is back and I am sailing a bit of freestyle (actually, not today as I am dead as a dodo!) but it is still pretty weird wind. Oh well!

ONLY A COUPLE OF GOOD DAYS, WEIRD JUNE...

Hello there!!!!

It is definitely a weird June. The wind is really on and off and we have only had a couple of good days in the last few weeks. Last week we had a few days of really light winds and super flat. but then thursday was all-right. the wind was really really weird, really northerly and super gusty, but there was some swell around and some good sets came through. I sailed a really good spot early in the morning with some friends. it was good fun but not epic, the wave was pretty soft, and it was really hard to choose the right one that would throw a lip, but good fun. then in the afternoon i went to Pozo and had a second session. it was also pretty gusty wind, but good fun. Plus there was a lot of good people on the water making it look amazing (Klaas, Victor, Brawzinho, Ele, Jonas, Vidar, Pablo, and many more!). Then friday everyone had their expectations really high, but the wind was even worst. so pretty much, it didnt work anywhere (or at least I didnt find it!).
Now the wind in gone, and the forecast doent even look that good anymore!!! today was even glassy in the North shore! definitely, a weird June.

My shoulder is pretty f*cked at the moment. Dont know what is wrong! will try to have it checked out on monday.
